It was glitzy, exciting, impressive, and above all, sort of fun as the Tigers captured their second straight West Yosemite League championship with a dominating 42-7 victory over Hanford. For the third straight game, the Tigers benefitted from the mercy rule, meaning that their lead going into the final quarters of the last three games were so insurmountable that officials kept the fourth quarter clock running, providing some level of mercy for the opposing team. Lemoore High School took yet another step toward a Division II Central Section championship after beating Redwood High School decisively Friday night in Tiger Stadium 59-41. Lemoore got six touchdowns, five of them through the air from quarterback Cort Groathouse to help the Tigers set up a semifinal matchup with Dinuba this Friday in Tiger Stadium.
