“It is our first annual Easter egg hunt,” said Kings Lion coordinator Gina Arcino. “We decided to pick an area which is sometimes overlooked and Stratford’s a small community, which we think would love to do this, so we got together with some Kings Lions members and some local businesses in Stratford, Lemoore and Hanford and together we made this happen. We think this will be really good for the community.”
Arcino estimated that about 500 kids showed up for the first annual egg hunt, which was held at Stratford Elementary School. The youngsters were divided into three groups and retrieved eggs from a specific area. It took just minutes for each group of kids to devour the area, picking up every egg in their path.
Kids and parents were also treated to hot dogs, cooked up by Kings County Supervisor Joe Neves.
