Certified physician assistant Jean Pigford is once again caring for patients at Adventist Health/Community Care – Lemoore. Pigford has been practicing medicine for 21 years; 14 of those years were spent at Adventist Health / Central Valley Network. After leaving the Lemoore Adventist Health clinic for a brief time, he returned in May.
“I believe in Adventist Health’s mission and how the organization cares about patients and providers,” says Pigford. “It’s a very positive environment to work in, and I’m glad to be back.”
Pigford specializes in family medicine. He graduated from the physician assistant program at University of Southern California, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at California State Dominguez Hills and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) at University of Nebraska.
While at USC, he says, there was one instructor who served as an inspiration to him.
“Dr. Shafeeq Shamsid-Deen was so kind and caring,” he says. “To this day, I try to mimic his style and treat everyone with kindness. I listen to my patients and give them the respect they deserve.”
Pigford is fluent in English and Spanish. He enjoys caring for the community of Lemoore because he says the people are friendly and always willing to greet you.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his 15-year-old son and wife of 31 years. He also enjoys hiking, fishing and boating.
Pigford may be reached at the Lemoore clinic, 810 E. D St., with a phone number of 559-924-7711.
