Veteran Lemoore Police Officer Maggie Ochoa earns Commander's rank

A King City native and now a permanent fixture in Lemoore, Maggie Ochoa, has joined the elite of the Lemoore Police Department. Ochoa, a longtime Lemoore police officer, earlier this month, was promoted to Commander, a step below chief.

Ochoa will appear at Tuesday’s Lemoore Council Meeting to officially receive her latest promotion.

Ochoa was born and raised in King City and received her Associate’s Degree from West Hills College, earned while serving as a Lemoore police officer. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Union Institute and University.

Ochoa has worked in the Lemoore Police Department since 1998 following her graduation from the College of the Sequoias Police Academy in 1997. During her 17-year career, Ochoa has earned many commendations from both the Lemoore Police Department and the citizens of Lemoore.

She has been elected Lemoore Police Department Employee of the Month as well as City of Lemoore Employee of the Quarter in 2001 and 2014. Ochoa has held many positions and assignments during her career including as a Youth Development Officer, Explorer Advisor, Field Training Officer, Corporal, Reserve Officer Coordinator, Detective, and Sergeant.

Ochoa is also a member of the Kings Lions Club.
