Her love for the Spanish language brought Kimberly Tangen, Ph.D., to the Central Valley. Dr. Tangen is a licensed clinical psychologist with a cross-cultural emphasis. She’s caring for patients with anxiety, depression and stress at Adventist Health / Community Care – Riverdale and Reedley Jefferson.

Dr. Tangen majored in Spanish and psychology at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minn. She earned her Master’s in psychology and organizational behavior, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. She sought a cross-cultural emphasis after living in Mexico City and in Bogota, Colombia.

“I enjoy the language and the culture, as well as using the language,” she says.

Dr. Tangen grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis. She says the Central Valley reminds her of home because of the agriculture. “I’m a vegetarian, so I love that there is such an abundance of fruits and vegetables here.”

Dr. Tangen most looks forward to helping community members build on their strengths and empowering them to live their lives to the fullest.

She may be reached at Community Care – Reedley Jefferson, 1150 E. Washington, with a phone number of 559-638-2154; and Community Care – Riverdale, 3567 W. Mt. Whitney Ave., with a phone number of 559-867-7200. More information about Community Care is available at www.AHCommunityCare.com
