I can still remember how exciting it was some 60-plus years ago as I hurried to the my neighborhood Elmo Theater for my weekly Saturday matinee where I would enjoy two cartoons, and if lucky, maybe two thrill-packed serials. We lived in the small coastal community of San Luis Obispo, classified in the 1950s as a small community of 16,000.
