Annual Pizza Fest nears as teams gear up for Valley's biggest pizza competition
Festival goers will be treated to free live music, a beer and wine garden, vendors, food vendors, activities for the kiddies and the “Dollar Dog’s Challenge” sponsored by the FAST Credit Union on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The traditional centerpiece is, as always, expected to be the building of “The Pizza” on Saturday. Sponsored by the EECU Credit Union, 16 teams will vie for the coveted annual award for the creation of the most “unique” wedge of pizza, and it has to be edible. The contest begins at 12 p.m. Get there early though.

Cash awards will be given: $200 for first, $100 for second place, and $50 for third. There will also be a pizza-eating contest sponsored by Fatte Albert’s. Teams will consist of two persons with huge appetites.
Other attractions will include pony rides, a petting zoo, blood drive, car show and other attractions.
The Gold Sponsors for the event include Leprino Foods and Recurrent Energy. Silver sponsors are Bueno Beverage, Del Monte, California Milk Advisory Board and Adventist Health. Bronze sponsors include Lemoore Van and Storage, Best Western. Other sponsors are Momentum Broadcasting, Fatte Alberts, Boston House of Pizza, Hanford Sentinel, FAST, EECU, Best Buy Markets, Kool 104.5 FM, and Olam.
Signup forms are available and for more information contact the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce at 559-924-6600.
