Adventist Spine and Pain Center welcomes Nurse Practitioner Lucia Thompson

Thompson joins Dr. Michael Brook, Nurse Practitioner Vilija Abrute and Physical Therapist Pedro Romero in caring for patients with spine injuries, fibromyalgia, migraines and more.

Thompson first began working at Adventist Health when she was 19 years old. She started as a medical assistant and went back to school to earn a Bachelor’s in Nursing from California State University, Bakersfield. She was hired as an Emergency Department nurse at the former Hanford Community Hospital in 1997.

She then went back to school to earn a master’s degree from the Family Nurse Practitioner program at California State University, Fresno. Thompson was hired as a nurse practitioner through the California Emergency Physician Group in 2009.

In 2012, she practiced occupational medicine at Adventist Health JobCare sites in Hanford and Selma, and then worked for the Kings County Health Department as a supervising nurse practitioner.
