Local photographer captures a full moon and much more on a perfect night
He shoots many community and sporting events. Much of his work is often featured in The Leader. His work can be found at www.photographyforkings.com and www.lemooresports.com.
The talented photographer has been preparing for a long time to capture these images. For years Burris, during a full moon, would sit outside with his camera and lens hoping for a passing airplane – a space shuttle, satellite and even the International Space Station.
About 18 months ago, he finally captured a jet crossing the full moon. This time around he took advantage of some special technology called flightaware.com, which helps him track jets as they fly by.
For the shot of the space station Burris has been preparing for the last three weeks using an International Space Station tracking application on his phone. The app lets you know exactly where the station is.
He took his camera and patience to the back gate and monitored the space station and snapped it as it was passing in front of the moon.
