Adventist Health awards annual scholarships to local youth

Every year, volunteers from Adventist Health / Central Valley Network award scholarships to high school seniors interested in medical careers. This year, eight students received scholarships.

Volunteers from Hanford awarded five students with $2,000 scholarships: Steven Gong from Lemoore Middle College High School; Kaitlyn Ignacio from Sierra Pacific High School; Luis Mendez from Avenal High School; Gabrielle Rodriguez-Hernandez from Hanford West High School; and Karli Toone from Corcoran High School. The scholarship ceremonies with family and friends took place at Sierra Pacific High School on May 23 and West Hills College on May 24.

Volunteers from Selma awarded three students with $1,000 scholarships: Sasha Contreras from Kingsburg High School; Manmeet Kaur from Selma High School; and Patricia Maldonado from Parlier High School.

Students who are interested in applying for scholarships next year may inquire about the scholarships with their school counselors. Applications are given to high school counselors at the beginning of every calendar year.
