School is out for the summer, but before students and staff went on break, Andy Taylor, the new Sports Medicine Outreach Coordinator and Athletic Trainer for Adventist Health Physicians Network, was out making connections.

Taylor’s game plan is to build a strong Sports Medicine Team that consists of players from Adventist Health and the community. He’s currently working with Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Christopher Verioti at the Hanford Medical Pavilion and therapists at Adventist Health / Physical Therapy in Hanford and Lemoore to create a program that offers sports physicals to students and information on network providers who assist with sports injuries, so parents don’t have to drive their children out of town for care.

“My goal is to build relationships with athletic trainers, students, parents and administration, so they know about the resources available to them,” says Taylor. “We have excellent physicians, surgeons and therapists to care for students and athletes.”

Taylor, who is an Arkansas native, has lived in the Fresno and Kingsburg area since 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a Master’s in Sports Administration from California State University, Fresno. He also holds various trauma certifications, including a Functional Movement Screening certification, and is a National Registered Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT).

Taylor may be reached at the Hanford Medical Pavilion, 125 Mall Dr., Ste. 205, with an office number of 559-537-0400.
