His story is one of inspiration, encouragement, and faith, and the former San Francisco Giant Dave Dravecky will take his inspiring story to the annual Adventist Health Central Valley Health Foundation Gala in the fall.

Dravecky was diagnosed with cancer in 1988, and the disease eventually resulted in the amputation of his pitching arm. Such a life-altering experience forced Dravecky to retire while he was at the peak of his career. However, he didn’t let the challenge damper his spirits. He now shares his story of hope and encouragement with others.

Proceeds from the event at the Hanford Civic Auditorium will go toward purchasing a tomosynthesis machine for the Adventist Health Breast Care Center in Hanford. A tomosynthesis is an advanced form of mammography that creates three-dimensional images and helps in early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer.

Seats may be reserved by contacting the Central Valley Health Foundation at 559-537-0760 or CVHFoundation@ah.org.
