For the second year in a row, Adventist Health Hanford earned a “B” and Adventist Health Selma an “A” for patient safety from T Leapfrog Group – a national nonprofit healthcare rating organization.

The Safety Grade assigns letter grades of A, B, C, D and F to hospitals nationwide based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections, and other healthcare issues.

“We could not be more proud of our Hanford and Selma teams for continuing the hard work that it takes to be high-performing hospitals that reflects so positively on our entire Adventist Heath family,” says Andrea Kofl, Central Valley Network president. “I know they will continue to do everything they can to safeguard our patients’ health and safety.”

Adventist Health Reedley did not have enough data to participate in the Leapfrog survey.

Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
