Navy veteran, Dr. Douglas W. Talk, OB-GYN, is caring for patients at Adventist Health Medical Office – Healthy Beginnings and Adventist Health Physicians Network in Hanford.

The North Carolina native has served in the Navy since 1992 and has been partnering with Adventist Health since 2014. He is passionate about serving our country, including the men and women who serve it as well.

“One of the things that drove me to be here is that it’s a small town, and also a military town,” he says.

During his time in the Navy, Dr. Talk served as a nuclear chemist aboard the USS Cavalla, an SWO on two frigates, and as a Congressional Liaison for Fleet Forces Command.  Dr. Talk majored in biochemistry and biology at North Carolina State University. He attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.

Dr. Talk chose OB-GYN because he says it allows him to provide complete care for women through many periods of their lives.  He views healthcare as a partnership and believes that providers have a responsibility to help patients in a way that makes sense to them.

“Patients come to doctors because we’re seen as the experts. They want us to help by providing information so they can make the best decision for their situation,” says Dr. Talk.

He may be reached at Adventist Health Medical Office-Healthy Beginnings with a phone number of 559- 537-0254; and at Adventist Health Physician Network-Hanford in the Lacey Medical Plaza with at 559- 537-0375.
