While the architect of the modern facility, Kelly Slater, couldn’t be there, he had the site’s manager, Sam Ramirez, accept the numerous proclamations presented to him from a variety of local officials.

According to fans, the Surf Ranch provides the best viewing advantages of any world surfing event as fans fill bleachers and surrounding areas to catch the action.

Local dignitaries and chamber businesses munched on free tacos, sipped beers, and took a good look at the facility that promises to bring thousands of surfing spectators to Lemoore. Already, many of the world’s top surfers visited the site for the first annual Founders Cup, sponsored by the World Surfing League.
