Adventist Health welcomes new surgeon treating stomach concerns

Dr. Michael Morell is partnering with Dr. Satish Kesava, board-certified thoracic surgeon, to build a Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Center of Excellence. Dr. Morell will focus on endoscopy, hernias and advanced minimally invasive esophageal gastric and intestinal surgery, while Dr. Kesava will continue to tackle general and thoracic issues, such as acid reflux disease.

Dr. Morell has a bachelor's in biological science; a medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California; and a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy from Gunderson Health System in Wisconsin. He completed the general surgery residency program at the University of California Irvine.
