Lemoore Elementary School District seeks members for $26 million Citizens Bond Oversight Committee

Included in the passage of Measure D, which passed with 63 percent of the vote, was the creation of a Citizens Bond Oversight Committee to monitor how the district spends the estimated $26 million in bond proceeds over the next several years. District officials say they are looking for Lemoore residents to serve on the committee.
"We are wanting to have applications submitted by Feb. 1, so the members of the committee can be approved at our Feb. 12 board meeting," said the district's superintendent, Cheryl Hunt.
Measure D provides that any funds raised for repairs, upgrades, and new construction projects at the District’s schools. The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee will be held responsible for reviewing district expenditures to make sure bond funds are used only for projects specified in the voter-approved measure.
