The Lemoore High School NJROTC Drill Team competed against the best 17 drill teams in its Area 11 at the Drill Team Championships at Santa Ana High School in Los Angeles last weekend, Feb. 2.

The Area 11 NJROTC area, consists of the 54 units located throughout California and Arizona.  Lemoore High’s vaunted program has been a Distinguished Unit for the past 24 years, and it continuously stands out among the various ROTC units in the Valley, including  Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and several Navy NJ organizations.

Lemoore’s NJROTC had to consistently place at other NJROTC Drill Events to qualify for the highest level.  So far this year, Lemoore’s cadets competed in drill team events at Lemoore High School (host), Reedley High School, Serra High School (San Diego), Ramona High School and Murrieta Mesa High School (San Diego).

The drill-team event includes routines in regulation and exhibition drill, color guard, athletic events and academics.  Lemoore drill team members practice every afternoon Monday –through Friday and on the weekends and school holidays as well.
