The 19th Annual Central Valley Pizza Festival attracted hundreds of kids, adults, vendors and more this past weekend (April 12-14) to Lemoore’s City Park for the latest rendition of the Central Valley’s salute to the all-powerful and delicious pizza.
The three-day event, sponsored by the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce also held its 19th annual pizza-building contest, traditionally one of the main highlights of the festival. Sixteen teams competed this year, and a spirited team from Leprino Foods West won the top award for its colorful five-foot long pizza slice.
The Leprino team won a $200 prize. The second place prize went to the Santa Rosa Rancheria for $100 and third was a team from Olam Tomatoes, earning $50.
There was plenty of entertainment throughout the three days. There were rides, exhibits, booths, food booths and more.
