Lemoore Police Department tradition continues despite the ongoing pandemic!
On December 17 and 18, "Reason for the Season" kept the tradition going by moving the annual event from the Lemoore Civic Auditorium to the back parking lot at the Lemoore Police Department.
The move didn’t really make any difference – other than being safer – for the 62 families this year that benefitted from presents and food gifts. Santa Claus event showed up, as did the Lemoore Chief of Police, Michael Kendall.
Organizers aren’t finished with the Christmas season. On Tuesday, December 22, police officers and Volunteers in Policing will continue its annual "Presents on Patrol," where a caravan of police vehicles traverse the city delivering gifts to local recipients.
This year’s "Reason for the Season" helped 201 children and 62 families. The Lemoore Police Department got a lot of help and donations from the following:
