Vice President Mike Pence, with just days left in his term and days after confirming President-elect Joe Biden’s election, flew with his wife – Second Lady Karen Pence – to visit sailors and spouses at Naval Air Station Lemoore Saturday afternoon.

Pence spoke for about 20 minutes on the Naval Air Station’s tarmac while his wife later spoke with military spouses. Another reason for his visit may have been to visit his daughter and son-in-law. Pence’s daughter, Charlotte, is married to a Navy officer stationed at NAS Lemoore.

Pence thanks the U.S. Navy sailors for their work protecting the nation. He spoke for about 20 minutes on a stage adjacent to a pair of Navy jets.  Much of his speech was spent thanking the sailors for their service and citing the Trump administration's successes related to the military and other national and world events.

Also in attendance was 21st Congressional District Rep. David Valadao, who recaptured his seat in November. Valadao was one of 10 Republicans who voted earlier this week to impeach President Trump, a move that drew the ire of local Republicans.
