Nineteen-year-old Jillian Rogers, a West Hills College Lemoore student who hopes to become a neonatal intensive care nurse, may have taken a slight detour on Saturday when the talented tap dancer won the Miss Kings County title Saturday afternoon in the Hanford High School Presentation Center.

Contestants had opportunities for cash awards, scholarships, and gifts. Others competing in the Miss Kings County pageant included Tyler Blanks, 20, who attends College of the Sequoias and California State University Fresno, and 25-year-old Eden Brock, who attends California State University Fresno.

Saturday’s competition had eight women vying for the title of Miss Kings County 2022 and Miss Kings County’s Outstanding Teen in 2022.

Saturday’s Kings County event is a prelude to the Miss America Pageant. Rogers will receive a $1,500 scholarship, serve as a Kings County ambassador for the next year and then compete for the title of Miss California in June.
