West Hills Community College District will be accepting applications for a vacancy on its Board of Trustees following the retirement of Edna Ivans after 48 years of service as a trustee. Ivans had been a member of the Board of Trustees since June of 1967.

Individuals interested in being considered for the position must submit a candidate application no later than Monday, May 4 at noon.  A successful candidate will be appointed to the position and serve until the next Governing Board Member election at the statewide general election in November 2015.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, a California citizen, a registered voter, a resident of the West Hills Community College District residing in Trustee Area 3 and cannot be disqualified by the laws of the state or by the Constitution from holding civil office.

The Board of Trustees will interview candidates and appoint the new board member at a special meeting on May 19 at 2 p.m. Candidates will be asked to provide a three minute presentation and answer questions provided by the Board members.
