Author to speak at West Hills College Golden Eagle Arena Sept. 10

Jane Porter, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of romance and women’s fiction, will speak at West Hills College Lemoore’s Golden Eagle Arena on Sept. 10.

The talk will begin at noon and focus on her new book, It’s You, the story of Dr. Alison McAdams and the lessons she learns about life, healing and love after coming to Napa to care for her ailing father.

Copies of It’s You will be available for sale for $13 and the author will be happy to sign books after the presentation.

Porter, a Visalia native, is no stranger to the Central Valley.

“I love central California's golden foothills, oak trees, and the miles of farmland,” she said.

The author has published 50 novels and novellas and won the prestigious RITA award from the Romance Writers of America in 2014, one of the highest awards of distinction for writers in the romance genre. Porter’s books have been printed over 12 million times, in twenty languages and in 25 countries. She is a former English teacher.

She was inducted into Chick Lit Central’s Hall of Fame in 2013 and also founded her own publishing house, Tule Publishing, the same year to give romance and women’s fiction authors support and opportunities.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from UCLA and a Master’s in Writing from the University of San Francisco and currently lives in San Clemente.
