Lemoore Lions bring happy Thanksgiving to local organizations, individuals

It was much more than a potluck dinner at the regular Lemoore Lions meeting Monday night at the Veterans Hall in Lemoore. The local club gave several local organizations and individuals a very happy Thanksgiving.

The Lions handed out in the neighborhood of $8,000 Monday night, including $5,000 to the Lemoore Lions Club West Hills College endowment. The local college was by far the largest recipient of Lions’ funds. Included in the largess was $2,000 in student scholarships, two for $500 to Lemoore High School students planning to attend West Hills and two for WHC students who plan to go on to a 4-year college.

The Lions also presented $500 worth of Best Buy gift cards to Lemoore Police Department Chaplain Gene Pensiero for the department’s Presents on Patrol program and another $250 donation to Lemoore Police Community Service Officer Soledad Perez to help buy Christmas presents for the department’s Reason for the Season program.
