Lemoore High School’s Peter Francisco Castro, on March 3, signed a letter-of-intent to play water polo at San Jose State University in the fall. Castro was a standout player for Lemoore’s water polo teams the past four years.

He was accompanied at his signing in the Event Center by his grandmother Isabel Espinoza, mother Gina Freitas and Great-Grandmother Francisca Rocha..

Peter has been swimming most of his life, starting with the Lemoore Aqua Jets at the tender age of five. He’s been in Lemoore since he was five years old.

Castro was part of a Tiger water polo team that went 17-8 this past season and 7-5 in the West Yosemite League. Lemoore finished in third place in the WYL.

The Spartans could probably use Castro’s help. Under Head Coach Bruce Watson San Jose State was just 4-25 this past season and 0-9 in its conference.
