Local high school student wins top prize in Kings Art Center Young Masters

A Lemoore High School student, Aubri Szalai, took home first place honors at the recent Young Masters competition, held at the Kings Art Center. Szalai is a senior at the high school and won in the painting category.

Categories included painting, drawing and 3 Dimensional. In the painting category, Laura Picazo took second place honors, while San Juana Barajos finished third.

Judges included Susan Quinn and Sally Stallings, both of whom lauded the entrants in this year’s competition. “Art is an important part of a student’s education and good art programs in our schools at all levels is vital.”

The Young Masters was sponsored by the Kings County Office of Education.
