Lemoore High School is presenting the spring musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” by authors Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, on April 19, 20, and 21 at 7 p.m. in the school’s historic theater.

Tickets for the student-led musical are $10 for general admission, $7 for children under 12, and $5 for those holding a Lemoore High School Purple Card or a Tribal Identification Card. It’s free for students who hold a Gold Card.  Each may be purchased in advance at the high school Bookkeeper’s office or at the door.

Based on a film by Roger Corman, with screenplay by Charles Griffith, the popular musical takes place on Skid Row where Seymour Krelborn, played by Lemoore’s Joseph Nazereigo, purchases an unknown, wilting plant.  He attempts to nurse it back to health, but his boss, the owner of the Skid Row Flower Shop, Mr. Mushnik, played by Chase Ford, is annoyed until the plant attracts some new business.

Seymour’s co-worker, Audrey, played by Victoria Scribner, is attracted to the nefarious Dr. Orin Scrivello, portrayed by Matt Crisci.  All commentary is played by a trio of well-known street urchins, Crystal, Ronnette, and Chiffon, played respectively by Annemarie Schalde, Reese Herron, and Denise Dempsey.

Once the secret prescription becomes known, the plant, played by Jarred Crisp, needs to be medicated.

The ensemble includes: Stephanie Cortez, Carlos Sanchez, Madison French, Troy Chennault, Darrian Martin, Dakota Macedo, Suzy Montoya, Jordan Grimes, Natalie Hernandez, Keziah Willis, Maggie Franckhauser, Joseph Ramirez, and Jack Crisp.
