The Lemoore City Council will begin a search for a new city manager after city officials reached a mutual separation agreement which resulted in the resignation of Andi Welsh, the last city manager. The resignation is effective May 9, 2017.

It’s unclear still as to the reasons for Welsh’s departure. Earlier this year, following a special meeting on Jan. 11, the council placed Welsh on administrative leave. The council was mum as to the reasons for the move.

Lemoore Chief of Police Darrell Smith took on administrative duties and has been acting city manager since that time.

The council hired Welsh in June 2015 on a 5-0 vote to replace interim city manager Ron Hoggard, who in turn took over from former manager Jeff Laws, a former police chief as well.

Welsh came to the city with a wealth of experience. At her last position, she was an assistant to the town manager in the City of Gilbert since 2012. She was also an assistant city manager at El Mirage, and she worked from 2008 to 2011 as the Director of Community Services and Arts and Culture for the City of Sedona. She was also Sedona’s assistant city manager from 2004-2008.
