Lemoore High School’s Billy Chedester and the school’s Virtual Enterprise (VE) Class held their own and more at the Virtual Enterprise Training Day held at Fresno State on Sept. 13. The VE CEO, Billy Chedester, won in the elevator pitch category. “Winning this competition just shows how much progress we have made and how much potential our business has,” said Chedester.

His pitch was a description of the team’s company and what the goals are. And with the product winning the competition, it shows that the school’s idea made an impact at Fresno State. Chedester had only two hours to develop and practice his pitch before delivering his presentation to a panel of judges.

Lemoore’s VE class created a company called H2O: Hydration to the World. This “virtual” company produces water bottles with built-in filtration. Billy delivered a one-minute pitch about the product and the company’s vision. One of the goals of the product is for everyone to have access to clean drinking water.

Scott Buller, the school’s business department chairman, teaches the long-time class at Lemoore High School which offers innovative business programs that give practical business experience to students.

Students in Virtual Enterprise compete against other schools at trade shows and business competitions. This travel is made possible by donations from local businesses and individuals.
