As they celebrate 35 years of giving back to the community, Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino is proud to be involved in two fundraising efforts benefitting the American Cancer Society this month with their Community Breakfast and Relay for Life activities.

Over the years, Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino and the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribal Community have donated $460,575 to the American Society, with the goal of reaching half a million dollars this year.

On Friday, April 27, at 8:30 a.m., Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino will host its monthly community breakfast benefitting the American Cancer Society.  The fundraising breakfast features a buffet, informative community news and business networking, as well as raffle prizes. Attendees are encouraged to make a minimum donation of $5 to attend the breakfast.

On Saturday, April 28, Tachi Palace Directors will be volunteering their time in a dunk tank at the annual Relay for Life of Lemoore.  The inspiring walk takes place at Bush Street Park from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the public is encouraged to attend or donate to the cause.

Through the years, Team Tachi, along with the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribal Community and its employees, have donated more than $460,500, raising funds in a variety of ways. They have hosted bake sales, washed cars, made bracelets, sold footprints and Team Tachi t-shirts, participated in volleyball tournaments, painted, Zumba, even locked up their bosses in “jail” all to raise money for the fight against cancer.

The American Cancer Society, with the support of Tachi Palace and Santa Rosa Rancheria, assisted Kings/Tulare County residents by providing free local patient services. In 2017 they achieved the following:

  • 636 resident cancer patients were helped
  • 62 cancer patients received 1,096 rides to lifesaving treatments by American Cancer Society (ACR) Road to Recovery volunteers
  • Eight cancer patients received 22 room nights via ACS Hotel Partners
  • 61 female cancer patients were helped at a Look Good Feel Better workshop
  • Eight new breast cancer patients were mentored by breast cancer survivors volunteering for the Reach to Recovery program
  • 57 new wigs were given to female cancer patients from the Hanford Wig Bank
