Lemoore police indicated that a suspect arrested on DUI charges may have been responsible for burglarizing the same house twice on Nov. 23 in Lemoore. Lemoore police alertly caught up with the brazen suspect, who may have been under the influence at the time.

Lemoore’s Moses Chasimba, 38, was arrested by police and booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of DUI, residential burglary, possession of stolen property, and vandalism.

It was on Nov. 23 at 11:30 a.m. that local police officers arrived at a residence on East Hanford Armona Road where a residential burglary had just taken place. The victim came home and noticed a forced entry into her home through a broken window. The window’s screens were also missing. She found additional items in the house vandalized and missing property.

Possible blood evidence, perhaps left by the intruder, was found and collected during the investigation.

Later that same day, about 5:45 p.m. the same victim called to report another burglary in progress at her residence. The victim told police that someone was attempting to break in. As officers were on their way, the suspect fled the scene. The victim provided police with a description of the suspect and vehicle.

Officers quickly located the suspect on Cedar Lane and arrested Chasimba for DUI. A vehicle search by police found a window screen and one of the items the victim reported as stolen from the first residential burglary.

Detectives, armed with a search warrant, visited Chasimba’s residence later that night. The victim’s stolen property and other physical evidence linking Chasimba to the suspected crime were located and seized.
