There is new royalty roaming the halls and pathways of Lemoore High School as of Tuesday night. The school’s Senior Class voted in its new Tiger and Tigress of the Year for 2019.

The honors went to seniors Delanee Lopez and Alec Tashima.

The new Tiger royalty was crowned before the start of the girls’ basketball game against Hanford.

The Tiger and Tigress of the Year ceremony has been a long-standing tradition at the local high school, beginning as the Tiger of the Year before the ladies were added.

The award represents outstanding leadership qualities, academics, and involvement in clubs and athletics. Senior English teachers nominated candidates they felt best suited to those qualities, and then the Senior Class voted on the candidates before their inauguration Tuesday night.
