Detectives seek public's help in solving over year-long Kettleman City homicide

Kettleman City was the scene of a suspected homicide on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, and the Kings County Sheriff’s Office announced it has learned of new developments in the year-long case, confirming that Norteno criminal street gang members were involved in the murder.

It was on Feb. 13, 2018, that deputies responded in Kettleman City to find a gunshot victim not breathing. Highway Patrol officers and Avenal Police Department officers also arrived on the scene at about 6:45 a.m. and discovered the subject, later identified as Armando Garza sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

Kings County Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced Garza dead.

Kings County detectives took over the investigation and determined Garza had been shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle by an unknown suspect(s). 

Detectives have new developments in the case and confirmed that members of the Norteno criminal street gang in Kettleman City were involved in the homicide.
