Kings County inmate who failed to return after 'compassionate release'' located and arrested

An arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of a Kings County Jail inmate released via a court-ordered “compassionate release.” On Wednesday, Aug. 7, 43-year-old Johnny Castaneda was released via the order and failed to return to the Kings County Jail at 5 p.m. that day. Sheriff's officials told The Leader this afternoon (Aug. 8) that Castaneda has been located and arrested.

Currently, his whereabouts are unknown. Castaneda is Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5-10 and has numerous tattoos on his neck.

The Kings County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with any information regarding Castaneda is urged to contact the Kings County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 852-2720.
