Lemoore City Council takes 37 minutes to conduct meeting. Highlights include city-county appointments

The meeting’s biggest highlight was the routine appointments of council members to a variety of boards and commissions that help govern the county and cities.

Lemoore’s newest council member, John Plourde, taking council members’ requests, put together the list, which includes everything from a Cross Valley Rail Corridor Joint Powers Authority to membership on the League of California Cities, the state’s major lobbying force for over 400 participating cities.

“I took all the input I received and tried to balance the committees that are actually impacted committees,” said Plourde, who was appointed to his position at the last council meeting. “I tried to balance everybody with a primary and an alternative based on their ability to make a meeting.”

Each committee or organization has a primary appointment and an alternative.
