Lemoore City Council approves third cannabis facility. Wellsona Partners will focus on cultivation and delivery

The Lemoore City Council, at its regular Tuesday meeting (Oct. 5), approved a development agreement with Wellsona Partners, allowing the cannabis company to operate a cultivation facility in the Lemoore Industrial Park.

Tuesday’s action will allow Wellsona to sell marijuana, but only through a delivery-only service. It will not have a storefront. The Lemoore City Council, in previous meetings, approved a pair of cannabis dispensaries – Valley Pure and NHC – that will be allowed to sell cannabis.

According to the project development agreement (PDA), Wellsona will operate the cultivation facility on property currently owned by Tom Vorhees. Vorhees will lease the property to the cannabis business. Wellsona also intends to create a delivery service, build manufacturing and cultivation facilities, distribution hub, and a facility for private events.

City officials say Lemoore can expect some $200,000 annually in cultivation fees and additional revenue from gross receipts. “The city would make five percent of all deliveries,” said Olson.

City Manager Nathan Olson told council members that four or five of the acres would be used for cultivation. “The rest will be for other types of businesses.”

City officials also say there is room on the property for expansion if needed. All plans, including a cultivation facility and other buildings, would eventually get approval from the Lemoore Planning Commission and, ultimately, the city council.

Council members voted unanimously to approve the Wellsona Partners project.
