Lemoore kicked off the community’s Christmas season with the annual rendition of the Holiday Stroll, an annual tradition that shows off much of the business community. And judging by Lemoore’s reaction, it turned out well.
Hundreds of visitors poured into the downtown to visit local stores, listen to music in the downtown park, and maybe visit Lemoore’s Family Eye Care and its annual Toys for Tots event. Even local congressman TJ Cox showed up Saturday with a toy and then wandered downtown to check out the rest of the Holiday Stroll.
The Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department did its usual thing, offering rides on a pair of fire trucks.
Saturday’s event, which featured downtown businesses showing off their wares and displaying holiday fare, is just the first event to highlight Lemoore’s Christmas cheer.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department will spice up the season when its hearty band of volunteers returns from the High Sierra’s with the city’s annual three-story-tall Christmas tree, situated at its traditional venue, the intersection of D Street and Fox.
The local volunteers are expected to raise the tree at about noon, and onlookers are welcome to watch.
Then on Saturday, Dec. 7, the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce urges all of Lemoore to come out for the annual Christmas Parade, slated for the downtown area. The annual parade is one of the most significant events of the year in Lemoore.
