Kings health officials report 23 more cases of COVID-19, just one death and 25 recovered

The number of Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) continues to grow in Kings County. Friday night, the Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) confirmed 23 additional cases of Covid-19. KCDPH has determined that 17 new cases contracted the disease through close contact with a confirmed case.

The exposure of the six additional cases is still under investigation. One case is being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

  • 110 (Close Contact)
  • 10 (Community Transmission)
  • 23 (Under Investigation)

Total Deaths: 1
Recovered: 25

KCDPH continues its communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 146 cases can be shared with the public. 

Latest California Update

As of May 1, California health officials report that the state now has 50,442 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 2,073 deaths. Local health departments also report that as of May 1, their departments have reported 5,617 confirmed positive cases in health care workers and 31 deaths statewide. More than 654,985 tests have been given in California.
