COVID-19 Update: Health officials Sunday night confirm seven new Kings County cases

The exposure of the remaining five new cases is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, five are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 399 cases can be shared with the public.

As of May 16, California health officials report that the state now has 76,793 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3,204 deaths. Local health departments also report that as of May 15, their departments have reported 8,111 confirmed positive cases in health care workers and 47 deaths statewide. More than 1,1790,126 tests have been given in California.
