Kings health officials confirm four additional cases of COVID-19; 135 recovered

The Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) Tuesday night (May 19) confirmed four cases of COVID-19 in Kings County. The exposure of the four new cases remains under investigation. Of the total active cases, six are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

The KCDPH has also identified 11 previously identified cases that have fully recovered from the disease.

  • 3 (Travel Related)
  • 233 (Close Contact)
  • 47 (Community Transmission)
  • 133 (Under Investigation)

Total Deaths: 2

Recovered: 135

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 416 cases can be shared with the public.

Latest California Update

As of May 18, California health officials report that the state now has 80,430 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3,302 deaths. Local health departments also report that as of May 17, their departments have reported 8,330 confirmed positive cases in health care workers and 47 deaths statewide. More than 1,292,672 tests have been given in California.
