County's health officials confirm 265 more COVID-19 cases; 245 from state prisons

Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) officials confirmed 265 additional cases of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and of the 265 new cases, 245 of them are associated with Kings County’s two prisons.

KCDPH reported that 249 of the new cases contracted the disease through close contact with a confirmed case. The exposure of the additional 16 remaining new cases is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, 19 are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

KCDPH has also identified 48 previously identified cases that have fully recovered from the disease.

Recovered: 363

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 1,452 cases can be shared with the public.
