Update: Kings health officials confirm 29 additional COVID-19 cases Monday night

The Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) Monday night (June 8) confirmed 29 additional COVID-19 cases. Eight cases are associated with Kings County's state prisons. KCDPH has determined that eight of the new cases contracted the disease through close contact with a confirmed case.

The exposure of the remaining cases is under investigation. Of the total active cases, 18 are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined. The KCDPH has nine more cases that have fully recovered from the disease.

Recovered: 499

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 1,567 cases can be shared with the public.
