COVID-19 Update: Kings Colunty health officials confirm 18 additional cases Saturday night

The Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) on Saturday (June 13) confirmed 18 additional cases of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Of the 18 new cases, two are associated with Kings County’s two prisons.

KCDPH has determined that six of the new cases contracted the disease through close contact with a confirmed case. The exposure of the additional 12 cases is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, 23 are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 1,759 cases can be shared with the public.
