COVID-19 Update: Health officials report 48 new cases and 1,357 recovered

The Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) confirmed Wednesday night  (June 24) 48 additional cases of COVID-19. KCDPH has determined that four of the new cases contracted the diseases through close contact with a confirmed case.

The exposure of the additional 44 remaining new cases is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, 32 cases are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

KCDPH has also identified 33 previously identified cases that have fully recovered from the disease.

Total Cases Associated to State-Operated Correctional Facilities in Kings County: 1,130

Recovered: 1,357

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 2,234 cases can be shared with the public.
