COVID-19 Update: Only 14 new cases reported Friday night in Kings County

The Kings County Department of Public Health tonight (June 26) confirmed 14 additional cases of local residents with COVID 19. None of tonight’s cases are associated with Kings County’s prisons.

How the new cases were exposed is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, there are 34 cases being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined. KCDPH has also identified 16 previously identified cases that have fully recovered from the disease.

The following depicts the current situation in Kings County: 

Total Kings County (non-correctional) Cases: 1,048

Total Cases Associated to Skilled Nursing Facilities in Kings County: 118

Total Cases Associated to State-Operated Correctional Facilities in Kings County: 1,132

  • 195 (Community Transmission)
  • 310 (Under Investigation) 

Total Deaths: 21

Recovered: 1,418

 KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 2,298 cases can be shared with the public.
