COVID-19: Find latest updates on Kings County Dept. of Public Health website

The Kings County Department of Public Health has recently reconfigured the way it reports the latest COVID-19 statistics. County health officials have separated Kings County's correctional facilities and nursing facilities from the total cases, which as of July 11, is 1,626 total cases with 13 deaths. The KCDPH also states that 787 cases have recovered.

However, in separate numbers, local health officials cite 1,156 cases in Kings County's state prisons. There are currently 26 active cases, while 883 have recovered. The KCDPH also reported four deaths. Kings County cites 136 cases of COVID-19 in local skilled nursing facilities where 22 deaths have been reported. Overall, 39 Kings County residents are reported to have succumbed to COVID-19.

Kings County has also reported 21,235 COVID-19 tests. Health officials say that 1,260 individuals are currently being monitored. Of the 1,626 total cases in Kings County (minus prisons and nursing facilities), the vast majority of cases (1,018) are in the 18-49 age group, and the highest number of cases (681) have been in Hanford.
