The California State Water Resources Board has given the City of Lemoore a reprieve of sorts by issuing Lemoore a variance to tough mandatory water restrictions. Thanks to Governor Brown’s executive order earlier this year, mandating that the state’s cities reduce their water usage, Lemoore was ordered to adopt a 32-percent decrease. Lemoore’s new city manager, Andi Welsh, isn’t content with just hiring a new public works director. She wants the best public director she can find, and she’s asking the public to help her. The Lemoore City Council, at its Tuesday meeting, will consider spending a few dollars more to determine the true costs of a consolidated regional dispatch center to be housed in Lemoore.
