Patients from across the Valley expressed appreciation for their physicians as part of a Doctors’ Day contest in February and March.

The patients took time to write notes about their doctors, which were entered into a drawing for a Wii U and Wii Fit game System or home fitness equipment. The Kings County winner was Ceci Mattingly of Lemoore, a patient of Dr. Sayed Basel in Hanford

“He’s a great OB doctor,” Mattingly wrote of Dr. Basel. “Very good with his patients and understanding. Always has a smile on his face. Makes you feel welcome.”

In addition to receiving her prize, Mattingly presented Dr. Basel with a certificate of appreciation in a celebration at his office in early April.

National Doctors’ Day is celebrated annually on March 30, the anniversary of the day in 1842 that anesthesia was first administered to a patient.

Doctors’ Day entries may be read on the Adventist Health / Central Valley Network website at www.AdventistHealthCV.com.
