A pair of newly-elected councilmembers were sworn in Tuesday night (Dec. 2) during the regular city council meeting at 7:30 p.m. Ray Madrigal and Jeff Chedester, who finished first and second respectively, took their seats immediately after being sworn in.

Madrigal was appointed to his post two months ago following the sudden resignation of former councilmember John Gordon. The former CHP commander garnered the most votes in the November General Election followed by Chedester.

Saying goodbye was two-term councilmember Willard Rodarmel, who finished third in the balloting. Only the top two finishers earn council seats.

Councilmembers then chose current mayor Lois Wynne to serve a full two-year term. Wynne was thrust into the position a little over a month ago when council members unceremoniously booted former mayor Billy Siegel from his position.

Councilmembers also appointed first-term member Jeff Chedester as mayor pro-tem.
